OMEGA COMMITS TO ISO 9001:2000 CERTIFICATION PROCESS
DALLAS – Omega Environmental Technologies, a leading U.S. distributor of aftermarket automotive air conditioning products, signed a contract with the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC) on November 22 to complete the ISO 9001;2000 certification.
TMAC will help design systems that ensure Omega’s quality management standards are compliant with the International Standards Organization (ISO). Omega will then contract with a third party auditor and make a recommendation for request to the ISO 9001:2000 Standard. The certification is scheduled to be awarded in July 2006. Thereafter, Omega will be audited each year in order to retain its certification.
Paula Arango, an industrial engineer, has been hired to a newly created position within Omega as in-house Auditor to facilitate the changes and ensure compliance with the new systems.
“The ISO certification process requires a serious commitment of time and resources but is well worth it when you consider the end value for your customers,” said Grace Davis, owner and founder of Omega. “It basically guarantees that you have specific processes that produce specific results and that you always follow your processes. We feel it is essential for a company that does business internationally such as ours.”
